Press and Media Information
The goal of Sutter Superior Court is to establish and sustain a collaborative partnership with members of the media and to assist with the judicial process.
Photography, Reporting, or Broadcasting Information
Pursuant to Rule 1.150, of the California Rules of Court, media requests to photograph, video/audio record, and broadcast public court proceedings, which may include pooled coverage, are at the discretion of the judicial officer presiding over the proceeding.

Submit the Judicial Council forms, MC-500, Media Request to Photograph, Record, or Broadcast, and MC-510, Order on Media Request to Permit Coverage to the Court Executive Office,

The request form and order shall be submitted to the Court at least five (5) court days before the proceeding to be covered unless good cause is shown. Good cause is considered for the initial hearing in a criminal case given the short timeline within which the case is filed (See Rule 1.150(e)(1), of the California Rules of Court).
Access to Records
Sutter Superior Court provides public case information in a timely manner. Most court records are open and available to the media. Some court records are sealed or confidential.
- Summary case information is provided by the Court’s public case access system and is available on the court’s website at: Superior Court of California, County of Sutter Portal
- Press Review Tool allows the media access to e-filed materials. E-filed materials have not been reviewed and accepted by the court as an official filing.
- For access to the Press Review Tool submit the form below to the Executive Office. The request will be verified and an email response from the Executive Office will advise the requester if it has been rejected and why or approved. If approved, the email will include the username and password.
